The psychiatry team offers compassionate, patient-centred mental health services across Mount Sinai Hospital, Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and in the community. We specialize in assessing and treating mental illness and addiction in patients who are pregnant, older adults and those dealing with both physical and mental challenges.
Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT)
- Serves adults experiencing severe, persistent, and complex mental health problems, including: those with marked impairment in social, occupational, and daily functioning; and those with special needs such as high demand for services, problematic substance use, homelessness, or involvement with the legal system.
The program focuses on Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Tamil populations. ACTT offers an array of culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services.

Mental Health Court Support Program
- Provides culturally competent services for individuals of ethno-racial background who face mental health challenges and have been involved in the criminal justice system. The goal is to help individuals reduce or eliminate future recidivism and to improve their quality of life. Service includes psychiatric assessment and follow up, psycho-social and mental health education, consultation, direct brief service, court diversion, and case management support.
